Carolyn MacLachlan
Balanced Body Pilates Instructor, Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher
Carolyn frequently says in class: “It’s not about what the shape looks like, it’s about what it feels like!”, because she believes in order to create the best possible movement experience for her clients, she must layer the physical movements with cues for conscious awareness. She feels that this allows space for each individual’s experience to be acknowledged, appreciated and welcomed.
From a young age, Carolyn learned to appreciate the complexity and the beauty of human anatomy during her years of Taekwondo and Karate training. As a teenager she fell in love with Pilates, and began to study this method of movement at only 18 years old. She qualified as a Mat and Reformer Pilates instructor under the Balanced Body certification in 2014, which is an internationally recognised training body. Since then, she has taught in many prominent studios across Dublin, and has expanded into an online presence, bringing live classes and workshops to clients across Ireland and around the world.
She is passionate about helping people feel strong and confident, and teaches with an energy that is fun and fresh. As no two bodies are the same, Carolyn strives to use accessible language and positive direction in her classes. She aims to create a safe environment for her clients to explore their own body’s potential. Carolyn’s personal belief is that she herself is always a student, from repeatedly adding to her skill set (completing a Mindfulness for Professionals course in 2019, and graduating as a Yoga teacher in 2020) to regularly attending movement conferences and other teacher’s events, to consistently learning from her own students and their experiences.
The classes she builds are innovative and unique, where everyone is welcome, and her ultimate goal is to help her clients move and feel better.
